At the time of research spontaneous dance was one of the most popular activities for students at the school during their fruit (recess) and lunch break. Students use a stereo system and play contemporary dance and hip hop music and choreograph routines to the music. While a number of students also gather in the hall to muck around, those participating in the dancing and choreographing included numerous boys from the 10s 11s class and the activity attracted a wide range of age groups.
