In Thumballs, children stand opposite a wall and throw the ball at the wall. The aim is to get as many as possible on the wall. If the ball bounces on the ground and you catch it, then the person who threw the ball is on the wall. If you catch the ball without a bounce then the person who threw the ball is on the wall. You can also get people off the wall by throwing the ball above a certain designated point, in this case a pipe and calling out 'savings'.
