Physical Play and Play With Toys

Children were popping a plastic pop-up projectile (party popper). They were catching the projectile. They first started the game quite formally by all standing in a line with the child popping the projectile, standing in front of them. As the game progressed they became more informal in their setup. This group of boys were cautioned a few times by the teacher regarding their running around in the space under the covered courtyard. When the teacher took the children out into the playground, this group continued to play the game until the start of lessons.
