This group of boys was very excited. One had a branch with dried leaves and was calling for another boy to come and 'put some gumnuts on it, quick, quick!' Then I heard someone say, 'Kill it! Kill it!' By the time I walked over they had stamped on an insect - I think it was a large Wetta - and were throwing dirt over it. One boy said, 'Quick, cover it - it's really poisonous!'
Then they started filling a squashed plastic Coca-cola bottle with gumnuts. When I asked what they were doing, they said they were 'learning about Australia 'cause these gumnuts are Australian', and they were going to take it in to class to show their teacher.
